About Plate & Pathways
In Rogers Park, families are feeling the strain more than ever.
The recent changes to SNAP benefits and the loss of many childcare programs have left a gap that affects hundreds of children in our neighborhood. Too many kids are coming home to empty fridges, limited supervision, and fewer safe places to grow, learn, and simply be kids.
At Plate & Pathways, we believe every child—and every family—deserves more. That’s why we are working to create more than just a meal program. We are working to building a community center: a place where kids can do homework, play games, and enjoy a hot, nutritious meal in a safe and welcoming environment.
Our vision is simple but powerful:
Nutritious meals – So no child or family goes hungry.
Lifelong skills – Hands-on cooking and food education to help families stretch resources and eat well.
Safe spaces – A reliable, caring place where children can find safety, guidance, and opportunity.
Food bags/ready meals - A needed service for our unhoused.

The need is urgent, but the solution is within reach—when a community comes together. Plate & Pathways is here to stand in the gap, eliminating barriers that keep families struggling, and replacing them with hope, opportunity, and connection.
This isn’t just a program—it’s a promise to our neighborhood that we will care for our own. Together, we can build a future where every child has a safe place to grow, every family has access to good food, and our community thrives.
This vision can only become a reality with the support of neighbors, friends, and partners who believe in the power of community. Every dollar, every hour volunteered, and every voice that shares our mission brings us one step closer to opening our doors. Together, we can create a safe space where children are nurtured, families are supported, and hope is restored.
Join us—because the future of our neighborhood depends on what we build today.
